Sports Medicine Orthopaedic Physician Assistant Casey Runte

A Melbourne Central Catholic High School Alumni, Casey graduated from University of Florida with a B.S in Applied Physiology and Kinesiology. While at UF, Casey was named the University’s Student Leader of the Year by UF President. Furthermore, Casey was awarded Research Honors by National Consortium for Adaptive Physical Fitness for his Directorship to the program and Human Biomechanics Research Partnership. Thereafter, Casey earned a Post-Baccalaureate Certificate in Bio-Medical Sciences from University of North FL and an EMT Certificate from FSCJ. Casey has a passion for adaptive medicine and special needs as evident by his time spent working as an Adaptive Ski Instructor and Recreational Therapist at the National Ability Center (in Park City, Utah).

Casey’s incredible passion for culture, travel and helping underserved communities was exemplified by his multi-year work functioning as an International Medical Technician and Global Program Leader at remote Thailand, Fijian Islands, and Australian Outback Indigenous Medical Service Bases. Moreover, Casey then attended Barry University’s Physician Assistant Program in Miami, FL where he developed an interest in surgery. His passion for Sports Medicine and extensive experience in exercise science inspired him to pursue a career in Orthopedics in his hometown. As a PA, Casey cares about developing a strong and empathetic patient-provider relationship and focuses on taking the time to develop treatment plans tailored uniquely to each patient. Whether assisting in the operating room or treating patients in clinic, Casey believes in living life to its fullest and helping patients get back to their peak sport performance and lifestyle.  A true LOCAL, when Casey isn’t surfing you can find him boating, wake-boarding, camping or coaching/competing in beach volleyball tournaments.
